Interpretation of this verse: 'If you sought victory, victory has come to you' – that is, 'O mockers, you used to say, 'Whoever between us and Muhammad, peace be upon him, is in the right, grant him victory and triumph.' And you said this so that it might appear that you were seekers of truth without ulterior motive. Now we have granted victory to Muhammad so that you may see the one who is in the right.'›
