In interpretation of this hadith of the Prophet, peace be upon him: 'Indeed, God Almighty created the angels and placed intellect in them, and created the animals and placed desire in them, and created the children of Adam and placed both intellect and desire in them. So whoever's intellect overcomes his desire is superior to the angels, and whoever's desire overcomes his intellect is lower than the animals.'›
