M4:2587 — که صفر بگذشت و شد ماه ربیع / مژده‌ور باشم مر او را و شفیع

This couplet is part of a narrative where the Prophet Muhammad (Ahmad in the Masnavi, M4:2582) is aware of the approaching time of his departure from this world. He knows that his transition will occur in Rabi' al-Awwal (M4:2582). Filled with spiritual longing for this appointed time, he eagerly awaits the end of the preceding month, Safar (M4:2584). The beyt captures his promise: anyone who informs him that Safar has concluded and Rabi' al-Awwal has arrived will be rewarded with his mowjdeh (glad tidings) and shafāʿat (intercession). This is not a literal transaction but a profound expression of the Prophet's spiritual state and his desire to convey blessings upon those who share in his anticipation of returning to the Divine Beloved. The story immediately follows with ʿUkāshah bringing the news and receiving the promised blessing, highlighting the Prophet's immense spiritual joy at the prospect of his reunion with God.
