M1:2685 — حق آن کف، حق آن دریای صاف / کامتحانی نیست این گفت و نه لاف

此节诗句是故事中那位阿拉伯人对他心上人所发的誓言。鲁米在此处巧妙地将刚刚结束的一段神学论述融入了恋人的话语中。

就在这节诗句之前，鲁米描绘了真主的“宽仁”（حلم）如同一片无垠的海洋，而人类所有的耐心与宽容，都不过是这海洋表面的一捧浪花（کف）。现在，这位阿拉伯人借用了这个意象，他发誓说：“凭那浪花，凭那清澈的海洋起誓……”这不仅是一个普通的誓言，更是一个深刻的形而上学指涉。他实际上是在调用宇宙间最根本的慈悲与真实作为自己诚意的见证。

This couplet is spoken by God to His servant, assuring him that the divine command to express all thoughts and doubts freely is utterly genuine. The imagery of 'foam' (کف) and 'pure sea' (دریای صاف) is crucial here. In Rumi's cosmology, foam represents the transient, manifest world and its phenomena, while the pure sea symbolizes the eternal, unmanifest Divine essence. By swearing by both, God emphasizes the totality of His being and the absolute truth of His word. He is not testing the servant's faith or trying to catch him in a lie; rather, He is inviting a childlike intimacy, where all thoughts, even those deemed 'unworthy,' can be shared without fear. This assurance is a cornerstone of Rumi's teaching on divine mercy and the nature of sincere prayer, where the heart's true state, however flawed, is valued over polished words or feigned piety.
