M2:1159 — چون بپراند مرا شه در روش / می‌پرم بر اوج دل چون پرتوش

This couplet is spoken by a special falcon, the King's favorite, who is boasting about its unique connection to the King in response to the envy and disdain of other, lesser birds (owls). In this context, the 'King' is God, and the 'falcon' is a symbol of the perfect human being or the accomplished mystic (the insan-e kamil). The 'way' (روش) refers to the spiritual path or the divine will that guides the mystic. When God enables this spiritual journey, the mystic doesn't just fly physically but 'soars to the heart's zenith' (اوج دل), reaching the highest states of spiritual realization and understanding. The phrase 'like His light' (چون پرتوش) signifies that in this elevated state, the mystic becomes a pure reflection or manifestation of divine light, embodying divine attributes. This isn't mere arrogance but a statement of the profound spiritual transformation and union possible through divine grace and guidance, contrasting sharply with the limited, earthly perception of the envious 'owls.'
