Read› Daftar 5› Someone asked a wise gnostic: 'If someone cries aloud, sighs, and laments during prayer, does their prayer become invalid?' He replied: 'That is called tears. It depends on what the one crying has seen. If they have seen the longing for God and are crying, or regret for a sin, their prayer will not be spoiled; rather, it will reach perfection, for 'there is no prayer except with presence of heart.' But if they have seen a physical ailment or the separation of a child, their prayer will be spoiled, for the essence of prayer is the abandonment of the body and the abandonment of a child, like Abraham who sacrificed his child for the completion of prayer, and gave his body to Nimrod's fire. And the command came to Mustafa (peace be upon him) with these qualities: 'So follow the religion of Abraham,' 'Indeed, there has been for you an excellent example in Abraham.'› beyt 1265
