He was a poet of a natural disposition, 'Pause, let us weep, from the memory of a beloved and a dwelling.' Since all women sought him with their souls, it is strange what his ghazal and lamentation were for. Perhaps he knew that all these were mere pictorial representations etched on boards of dust. Eventually, a state came upon Imru' al-Qais where he fled his kingdom and children at midnight, hid himself in a cloak, and went from one region to another, seeking one who is beyond regions, 'He singles out for His mercy whom He wills,' to the end.› beyt 4031
