بخش ۱۲۰ - تسلیم کردن مرد خود را به آنچ التماس زن بود از طلب معیشت و آن اعتراضِ زن را اشارات حق دانستن. به نزد عقلِ هر داننده ای هست، که با گردنده گرداننده ای هست
The man submits to his wife's request for seeking livelihood, and considers her objection to be divine signs. 'To the intellect of every knowing person, there is a Mover with the moving.'
- M1:2445 مرد زان گفتن پیشمان شد چنانکز عوانی ساعت مردن عوان The man regretted what he'd said, as muchas a tyrant regrets his tyranny at the hour of death.The man felt a sudden, profound regret for having spoken harshly to his wife, a regret as intense and final as that of a lifelong oppressor on his deathbed.
- M1:2446 گفت خصم جانِ جان چون آمدمبر سر جان من لگدها چون زدم He cried, “How did I become the enemy of the Soul of all souls?How did I trample and kick upon my very own life?”The man, filled with instant regret, asks himself how he could have acted as an enemy to God and, in doing so, inflicted such violence upon his own spiritual self.
- M1:2447 چون قضا آید فرو پوشد بصرتا نداند عقل ما پا را ز سر When the Divine Decree arrives, it veils the sight,so that our reason can't tell foot from head.When God's inescapable Decree takes effect, it overwhelms human reason and perception, leaving a person utterly confused and unable to make sound judgments.
- M1:2448 چون قضا بگذشت خود را میخوردپرده بدریده گریبان میدرد When the Decree has passed, he eats himself alive,Tearing his collar, all composure cast aside.Once an event ordained by God has occurred and its consequences are clear, a person consumed by regret will torment themselves with remorse for their prior blindness.
- M1:2449 مرد گفت ای زن پیشمان میشومگر بدم کافر مسلمان میشوم The man cried, “Woman, I repent of what I said!If I was an infidel, I now submit instead.”The husband, realizing his spiritual error in giving in to his wife's worldly demands, declares his profound repentance and his return to faith.
- M1:2450 من گنهکار توم رحمی بکنبر مکن یکبارگیم از بیخ و بن I am your sinner, show me clemency;do not uproot me all at once, root and branch.The husband begs his wife for mercy, asking her not to abandon him completely for his harsh words, which he now deeply regrets.
- M1:2451 کافر پیر ار پشیمان میشودچونک عذر آرد مسلمان میشود If an old unbeliever comes to repent,when he offers his plea, he becomes a Muslim.This couplet uses the image of a lifelong unbeliever's conversion to illustrate the power of sincere repentance: no matter how old the sin, a genuine apology is enough to be accepted by God.
- M1:2452 حضرت پر رحمتست و پر کرمعاشق او هم وجود و هم عدم The Divine Presence is full of mercy, full of grace;Existence and non-existence are both lovers of His face.God's nature is infinite mercy and generosity, so vast that everything, whether it exists or not, is drawn to Him in love.
- M1:2453 کفر و ایمان عاشق آن کبریامس و نقره بندهٔ آن کیمیا Unbelief and faith are lovers of That Majesty,copper and silver, slaves to That Alchemy.Opposites like faith and unbelief, or base and precious metals, are all equally subject to God's transformative power, which transcends these distinctions.
