The Shaykh telling Abu Yazid, 'I am the Kaaba; circumambulate me'
- M2:2218 سوی مکه شیخ امت بایزیداز برای حج و عمره میدوید Towards Mecca, the master of his age, Bayazid,was hurrying on his way for Hajj and Umrah.The great Sufi master Bayazid of Bistam was traveling with haste toward Mecca to perform the major and minor pilgrimages.
- M2:2219 او به هر شهری که رفتی از نخستمر عزیزان را بکردی بازجست To whatever city he would go, his first concernWas to seek out the cherished ones of God in turn.This couplet explains that whenever the great Sufi master Bayazid Bastami traveled, his immediate priority was always to find and meet spiritually advanced people.
- M2:2220 گرد میگشتی که اندر شهر کیستکو بر ارکان بصیرت متکیست He would go about asking, 'Who is there in this city,who is one that rests on the pillars of insight?'On his journey to Mecca, the Sufi master Bayazid Bastami would first search in every town for a person of true spiritual vision, a guide whose perception was firmly established.
