M3:3273 — گفت ای موسی چو نور تو بتافت / هر‌چه چیزی بود چیزی از تو یافت

This couplet is the core of the young man's persuasive appeal to Moses. Having been warned against his desire to learn the language of animals, the man doubles down, employing a classic rhetorical strategy: flattery mixed with logic.

He frames Moses not just as a teacher but as a cosmic source of illumination, a conduit of divine grace whose very presence—his nur (light)—enriches all of existence. The line plays on the word chizi (a thing, something). The man argues, "Since your light shone, everything that is a thing (har-che chizi bud) gained something (chizi) from you." This is a powerful statement of the Prophet's universal spiritual impact. Every creature, every object, has received some benefit, some elevation, some portion of grace from Moses's prophetic station.

Having established this grand premise, the man's unspoken conclusion becomes obvious: if everything has benefited, how can he, a devoted follower asking for a specific gift, be the sole exception? To deny him would be to contradict the universal nature of Moses's own spiritual generosity. It is a clever, if manipulative, argument designed to make refusal seem not just unkind, but inconsistent with Moses's very essence.
