M4:584 — روز آن باشد که او شارق شود / شب نماند شب چو او بارق شود

Rumi, in this section, is discussing the true nature of light and its source. He has just stated that the pure soul is the only true 'East' (source of light) and that in its rising, there is no distinction between day and night (M4:583). This couplet (M4:584) expands on that idea. 'Day' (روز) is not merely the time when the sun is out; it is a state of spiritual illumination that occurs when God ('He') becomes the 'شارق' (the one who causes to rise, the source of dawn). Similarly, 'night' (شب), which represents ignorance, heedlessness, or spiritual darkness, cannot persist when the Divine presence 'بارق' (shines, flashes, burns brightly). The imagery here moves beyond the physical sun to the ultimate, transcendent light of God, which dispels all forms of darkness, whether literal or metaphorical. It's a call to recognize the true source of all light and to seek that inner illumination which transcends the cycles of worldly day and night.

Este verso contrasta la luz del sol físico con la del «sol de medianoche» espiritual mencionado en los versos anteriores. Rumi argumenta que nuestra definición convencional del día y la noche, atada al sol visible, es superficial. El verdadero «Día» es un estado interior que acontece cuando la luz de la Realidad Divina (referida como «Él») amanece en el alma del buscador.

Este amanecer espiritual no está sujeto a las leyes del cosmos. Puede ocurrir en la más profunda oscuridad, en la «medianoche» de la prueba o la ignorancia. Cuando esta luz divina «fulgura» (bāriq), la noche de la separación, la duda y el sufrimiento deja de existir instantáneamente. Rumi redefine así el tiempo y la luz, pasando de una comprensión cosmológica a una existencial y mística: el tiempo se mide por la presencia o ausencia de lo Divino en la conciencia.
